We opted to take a day tour of Halong Bay - 8am-5pm cruise including stops to visit an enormous cave (one of the ""hollow islands", lunch on board, a bit of swimming, kayaking, a stop on "Monkey Island" (the highlight of which was a monkey stealing the beer of a skittish English traveler), and back to Cat Ba island. We're getting an early start today to head back to the mainland - the owner of our hotel offered to take us with him on a fast boat directly to Haiphong, motorbike and all - so we'll let the photos speak for themselves today.
